The topics are standards-based and of global interest. Each project is designed to be used as is or customized to your classroom’s needs. An easy way to find a classroom with which to partner is to check the “Connect with Classrooms” forum on the project index page for posts by interested classrooms. Alternatively, search the “Connect with Another Classroom” search box on ePals’ home page. Also search the “Ongoing Projects” and “ePals Wanted” forums. Once finding a classroom with which to do the Project, we recommend that the two teachers clarify some logistical issues before you start.
skypeSkype can be used for text chatting and video calling. You can easily send files while you are chatting and it costs nothing to call anywhere in the world (just bandwidth!).

Diigo is a tool for building an online library of resources. Whenever a member finds a good website they are able to share and comment on it for the benefit of everyone.

TwitterlogoTwitter is a microblogging tool that allows people to share their thoughts and activities with others. In 140 characters you can tell the world (or a group of followers) exactly what you are doing. You can use twitter for a huge range of reasons including conversations with other educators, requesting help and make connections with other classrooms. Gain an enormous amount of resources and teaching ideas from your network.

There are many excellent resources and sites shared on Twitter - normally people link the site and you can go straight to it from their tweet.

To sign up you need to give yourself a username and Twitterbirdpassword. Your username can be your own name or a nickname - it's up to you. Write a brief bio about yourself including any sites / blogs you may have.Search for twitter groups and start following some people. You can opt to protect your updates so that people must request to follow you - quite handy if you are concerned about your students checking on you!
